Question:
Can anyone give me a general idea what an insulated garage door might
cost? Plenty of web pages out there regarding them but none have
prices.
Answer:
I live in Southern California. Your prices sound more accurate. Expect to
spend around $1000+ for a new insulated door installed.
garage doors are way cheaper in southern CA than northern CA! I was
just shopping around for a new door for my 2-car garage. Cost of a roll-up
door with NO insulation start around $725, including installation, although
some firms charge an extra $55 or so to haul away the old door. Insulated
doors start around $875 and up.
I need to get two installed - nothing too fancy, and garage
isn't insulated, so I doubt I will get a heavily insulated door.
Currenlty, garage has two sets of "barn" doors that probably are from
50+ years old, maybe as old as house from 1920s? So, I will need
tracks, etc. and all the rest of the hardware installed.
Just wanted to get a general idea what something like that goes for.
And is Home Depot a good source? Or are their garage door prices and
more imporatatnly installation services overpriced?
