Question:
My wood shop including all my junk/toys will be evicted from the garage
since I bought the wife a new car. I have some room in the backyard and
was thinking about erecting a small shop building about the size of a
two bay garage or somewhere around 24' x 16'.
Should I go prefab steel, prefab wood or built from scratch? I've seen
some stand alone garage wood building kits on the local ad - are those
any good? Go with concrete slap on grade or raised floor? I'm located
in the Bay Area with mild weather so a conditioned building is not
required most of the year but I do need to have the building insulated.
Has anyone gone through this process? What have you decided on and why?
Any thoughts?

2. Make the ceiling height more than 8'
3. Build your own if wooden, never done the prefab metal
